Malinformation

Malinformation is accurate information that is shared to cause harm. It is often exaggerated or misrepresented, so that while the information is technically correct, it only conveys one side of the story. Statistics are often used, but only numbers that support the author are shown. The stories are deliberately misleading. Malinformation is frequently used in politics to convince someone that your side of the story is correct, but too much malinformation can make it difficult to understand what is true and what is not. Another form of malinformation is sharing private details in someone's life with malicious intent. An example of this would be sharing someone's banking information and sharing with the public.
